NANCY JO GLASGOW / BRANT OSER MILLER
When Nanjo lived in Hollywood, she befriended a sage who lived on the street corner. Every day they'd greet each other - She'd say, "How are you?" and he'd say, "What it is is what it ain't, Little Sister". From that was born this song, as well as the name of our publishing company,
"What it is Is what it Aint Publishing."
1
Devil on the corner, dressed up like a saint
What it is is what it ain't
2
In a showdown with a villain that I've learned to hate
What it is is what it ain't/ What it is is what it ain't
3
Glancing at the mirror, I start feelin' faint
What it is is what it
BRIDGE
My life’s lessons about wrong and right
Showed me people aren’t all black or white
SOLO
4
In a showdown with a villain, I defy my fate
And talk until we both have no more reasons left to hate
5
Devil on the corner, dressed up like a saint
What it is is what it ain't/What it is is what it ain't
Glancing at the mirror, ain’t the mirror great?
What it is is what it ain't/ What it is is what it ain’t
What it is is what it ain’t/ What it is is what it ain't/ What it is is what it ain't
What it is is what it ain't
